Our skippered yacht charters are perfect for anyone who wants to experience the adventures that come with sailing but either don’t have the qualifications to do so, or want to spend the time onboard relaxing and letting someone else do the work. As well as requesting to hire the yacht, tell us you’d like a skipper too, and we’ll arrange everything.
Your professional skipper will join you on embarkation and will stay with you for the duration of your charter, taking you to all the places you’d like to go and maybe giving you advice on the best places to visit and the best places to eat in the area. They will stay onboard with you in their own cabin so they won’t be under your feet while you enjoy some quality time with friends and family on what will be one of your most exciting holidays yet!

The benefits of a skippered charter
First and foremost, you don’t need to be a qualified sailor to take advantage of all of the benefits that a sailing holiday has to offer. Your skipper will do all of the sailing, can arrange your itinerary for you (unless you want to tell him where you’d like to go), take care of all of the safety elements involved and fundamentally make sure that your yacht charter is something that you’ll speak fondly of for years to come.
If you want to get involved with the sailing, you can, just let the skipper know and they will help you learn a few basics on how to sail a yacht, including some information about technical things such as wind streams, perhaps in preparation for you to learn a bit more on one of our RYA training courses. Our base at Port Hamble Marina is an ideal starting point to visit some of south coasts most spectacular sights. Head east to Portsmouth and enjoy the day shopping at Gunwharf Quays and visiting some of the most significant maritime vessels at the famous historic dockyard. West, you’ll find yourself at Southampton, or sail further along the coast and visit the quaint village of Beaulieu on the outskirts of the New Forest. Our customers also love sailing over to the Isle of Wight, where you’ll find adventure parks for the children and wonderful pubs and eateries for the grown ups.
For those embarking on a five or seven day charter, you can visit the south west coastal city of Plymouth or even head over to the Channel Islands where you’ll fall in love with the sandy beaches. historical monuments and friendly locals. Juts because you’re sailing in the UK doesn’t mean you won’t enjoy a whole host of wonderful places – sometimes home really is where the heart is.
